Born on August 21, 1988, in Golden, Texas, U.S.A, singer-songwriter Kacey Lee Musgraves has garnered multiple Grammy awards for her solo albums that blend Nashville country with contemporary pop. Beginning her musical journey at the age of eight, she honed her skills as a multi-instrumentalist and started crafting her own songs during her teenage years, drawing inspiration from artists such as Alison Krauss. Her entry into the music industry was catalysed by her participation in the talent show Nashville Star, with her debut single "Merry Go 'Round" already making waves on the country and single charts by 2012, earning the singer her first Grammy. Following her successful debut, Musgraves released her first album, Same Trailer Different Park, a year later, which swiftly climbed to the top of the country charts and secured a Grammy award for Best Country Album. Subsequent albums like Pageant Material (2015) and A Very Kacey Christmas (2016) displayed her unique blend of traditional country sounds with bold and contemporary lyrical themes. Her crowning achievement came with her third album, Golden Hour (2018), which earned her four Grammy awards, including Album of the Year, and solidified her status as a headline act at prestigious music festivals like C2C: Country to Country. In 2021, her album Star-Crossed reached Number 1 on the country charts, followed by a successful 15-city tour and global chart success. In 2023, Musgraves teamed up with country star Zach Bryan on the single "I Remember Everything," which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, marking her first Number 1 single on the chart and earning the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. She also served as an executive producer alongside Reese Witherspoon for the country music competition show My Kind of Country (2023). In 2024, Kacey Musgraves released her sixth studio album, Deeper Well, preceded by its title single, which went to number 26 on the US Country charts and 28 in New Zealand. Later that year, she expanded the project as Deeper Well: Deeper into the Well, adding seven new songs, including âIrish Goodbye,â âSuperbloomâ with Leon Bridges and âPerfectionâ with Tiny Habits. The album became one of her strongest commercial releases, debuting at numberr 2 on the Billboard 200, topping Billboardâs Country Albums chart and opening at number 3 in the UK. She supported it with the Deeper Well World Tour, which ran from Dublin in April 2024 to Nashville in December, and promoted the record with appearances on Saturday Night Live, Today, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Howard Stern Show. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, âThe Architectâ won Best Country Song, while Deeper Well was nominated for Best Country Album and âThe Architectâ also earned a nomination for Best Country Solo Performance. In 2025, Kacey Musgraves returned to the relaunched Lost Highway Records, the label that had first signed her in 2011, and marked the move with a version of Hank Williamsâ âLost Highway.â She also released âIf the World Burns Downâ for the Nobody Wants This Season 2 soundtrack and collaborated with CarÃn León on âLost in Translation.â In 2026, Kacey Musgraves issued âDry Spellâ and âMiddle of Nowhereâ ahead of the album Middle of Nowhere, released on May 1 through Lost Highway. Featuring Gregory Alan Isakov, Billy Strings, Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson, the record leaned back into country, folk, bluegrass and Tex-Mex influences while continuing her reflective songwriting.
