Biography

Jukka Kuoppamäki, born in 1942 in Helsinki, Finland, is a Finnish singer and songwriter. He began his music career at 17 in 1960, releasing his first singles that year. Kuoppamäki gained recognition with hits like "Sininen ja valkoinen" and "Pieni Mies", winning the Schlagerfestival der Ostseeländer in Rostock in 1971 and 1972. His career includes 34 albums released in Finland, with notable releases such as Mitä kansa haluaa (1965), Valtatie (1972), and Kultaa tai kunniaa (1973). In 1977, Kuoppamäki moved to Germany but continued his musical career, releasing albums like Sininen (2001). Kuoppamäki participated in the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection in 2007, finishing tenth. His other works include the singles "Mies ja kitara" (2003) and "Väärinpeluri" (2012), and the album Kotiinpaluu (2012).
