Juan Pablo Vega, born on September 26, 1985, in Bogotá, Colombia, grew up immersed in music and began crafting his artistic voice earlyâinitially sharing demos that caught the attention of acclaimed producer Julio Reyes Copello, leading to a six-year mentorship culminating in his debut solo album Nada Personal (2013), featuring the heartfelt duet âNada Personalâ with Catalina GarcÃa of Monsieur Periné and earning him a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. In 2016, he released the EP Vicio, including a standout collaboration with Mariel Mariel, followed by the atmospheric Las Olas (2017). After signing with Warner Music Mexico, Vega launched Conexión in 2019, an EP produced under the major-label banner that included a notable cross-genre collaboration with Ohâlaville on âEn el mar.â His self-titled second studio album Juan Pablo Vega arrived in 2021, featuring a series of genre-spanning tracks like âEso que me dasâ with Esteman, âDembow,â âApagar la Luz,â âJoderlo Todo,â âOjos Tristesâ with Karin B, and the collaborations âDejarnos Irâ with Vanessa Zamora, âPrófugosâ with Mabiland, and âMatandoâ with Vic Mirallasâfurther solidifying his versatile sound. In 2023, Vega released the reflective album DespÃdeme de Todxs, and in 2024 he celebrated the ten-year milestone of Nada Personal with a special anniversary edition, underscoring his evolution from indie troubadour to respected singer-songwriter, producer, and Latin pop innovator.
