Jordan Smith, born Jordan Mackenzie Smith on November 4 , 1993, in Harlan, Kentucky, is an American pop singer whose early background includes singing in his church choir and studying at Lee University. His breakthrough came in 2015 when he won season nine of The Voice, delivering a chart‑topping rendition of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" that reached Number 1 on the iTunes Store and the Christian Songs chart. In December 2015, he released The Complete Season 9 Collection, which entered the Billboard 200 at Number 11. He signed with Republic Records and released the studio album Something Beautiful on March 18 2016, debuting at Number 2 in iTunes sales and featuring the single "Mary, Did You Know?" that peaked at Number 61 on the Hot 100. In October 2016, he issued 'Tis The Season, adding holiday material to his catalog. Subsequent releases include "Ashes" (2020). Jordan Smith’s career highlights include multiple Number 1 positions on Christian charts, a Kentucky Colonel honor in 2015, and a third‑place finish in the 2022 American Song Contest with "Sparrow". His work has consistently appeared on Billboard and iTunes charts, underscoring his commercial impact within contemporary pop and Christian music.
