Biography

Johns Quijote is a Norwegian musical group from Oslo led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter John Ivar Bye. The band's unique blend of smooth jazz, rock, cabaret, and Tom Waits-esque influences was often described as 'adult, cultivated, and melancholy'. Johns Quijote released their debut album Ingens hjerte in 1998 on the Sandvika-based Farmen music label, followed by releases such as ForlÃ¸per (2000), Vakkert men sant (2001), VÃ¦rmelding for fattigfolk (2003), and ResymÃ©trisk (2007). Despite mixed reviews of their albums, Johns Quijote were popular performers in the Oslo music scene.
