John Yuan, born è¢æä» on 24â¯Juneâ¯1968 in Taiwan, began his career as a songwriter and composer before stepping into the spotlight as a singer. His breakthrough came with the 1991 single "Cuckoo's Dusk" with Mo Fan, which established him as a notable figure in Mandopop. Yuan released the selfâtitled album Yuan Wei Jen in 2000, followed by the album You Don't Know Me (ä½ ä¸ç¥éçæ)in 2005 and the album Acoustic Guitar (æ¨åä») in 2014, each showcasing his versatile pop style. He penned hits for leading artists such as Faye Wong ("Zhimi Buhui"), Na Ying ("Zhengfu"), and Sammi Cheng ("Beipan"), earning multiple industry awards. Despite injuries in 2018 and 2020, Yuan continued to influence the scene until his death on 2â¯Februaryâ¯2026 at age 57.
