Biography

After studying art history and literature, Joe Bel, who had been writing songs for a long time without really daring to sing them in front of an audience, took a decisive step forward in 2012. At the age of 24, the singer who had grown up with the eclectic sounds of Supertramp, Claude Nougaro, Véronique Sanson, Queen and The Beatles performed live for the first time, and emerged convinced that music would be her path. In a warm, folk-soulful pop vein that sometimes veers towards rap, she self-taughtly developed her own style and succeeded in making her soulful voice heard on a debut EP entitled In the City, which saw the light of day in 2013. This was followed in 2015 by a new 4-title EP entitled Hit the Roads, shortly before her breakthrough to the general public. This came in 2016 with her participation in the film Tout pour être heureux, in which she co-stars with Audrey Lamy, Aura Atika and Manu Payet, contributing greatly to the success of the soundtrack. Her performance of "Salut les amoureux", a cover version of Joe Dassin's "Salut les amoureux", quickly made it to the top of the French singles charts.
