Biography

Real name Anne-Claire Ducoudray, singer Clou was born in Paris on August 26, 1983. She was introduced to music at the Conservatoire, where she studied the piano before taking up the guitar, and left her studies to try her hand at singing. After a stint with the folk group Folk'U, she was noticed in 2014 at a radio talent contest and encouraged to write songs in French. With her guitar slung over her shoulder, the singer opened for well-known artists and signed with the independent label Because Music, which released her first EP Clou (2016) and the following Comment (2020), featuring the track "Rouge". The latter is featured on the album Orages, which took two years to develop with producer Dan Levy of The Dø. Released on the Tôt ou Tard label, the album was nominated at the Victoires de la Musique awards, revealing the singer to the general public. After collaborations with Tété, Iceland's Asgeir, the groups Dionysos, Chien Noir and Eléphant, Tom McRae, Bilal Hassani, Mentissa, and even the British band Orbital for the French track "Oxygènes", Clou returns in 2024 with the album À l'Évidence, from which the single "Mon épaule" is taken.
