JJ72, an alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland, was formed in 1996 by Mark Greaney and Fergal Matthews. The duo initially sought a bass player and eventually recruited Hilary Woods after discovering her at a dance club. JJ72 released their first self-titled debut album JJ72 in August 2000. The album featured notable singles such as "Snow" and "October Swimmer", with the latter appearing on the soundtrack for the film Runawau. Their debut album sold over 500,000 copies in Ireland and the United Kingdom, achieving significant chart success. In October 2002, JJ72 released their second album I To Sky, which included singles "Formulae" and "Always And Forever". The band toured extensively, supporting acts such as U2 and Manic Street Preachers. In March 2003, Woods left the band due to personal reasons and was replaced by Sarah Fox. JJ72 disbanded in June 2006 following a statement from the group on their official website.
