Biography

Jodie Foster's Army, commonly known as JFA, is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981. The original lineup included Brian Brannon on vocals, Don Redondo on guitar, Michael Cornelius on bass, and Mike "Bam-Bam" Sversvold on drums. Emerging from the skateboard culture of Arizona and Southern California, JFA's debut EP Blatant Localism EP was released in late 1981 by Placebo Records. Their breakthrough came with the album Valley of the Yakes, released in 1983, leading to extensive touring. Notable albums include Nowhere Blossoms (1988), Only Live Once (1999), and Concrete Waves (2002). JFA was pivotal in developing the skate punk and skate rock scenes, receiving coverage in influential magazines like Thrasher.
