Jerzy PoÅomski (born Jerzy PajÄ
k; September 18, 1933 â November 14, 2022) was a Polish pop singer and actor from Radom. PoÅomski adopted the stage name while studying at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. PoÅomski began a career in 1957 as a stage actor and radio singer. In 1959, PoÅomski released the debut album Podwieczorek z piosenkÄ
. PoÅomski placed second at the first Sopot International Song Festival in 1961. PoÅomski released a series of recordings including âKomu piosenkaâ, âDajâ, and âCaÅa sala Åpiewa z namiâ. The song âBo z dziewczynamiâ received the audience award at the Opole Song Festival in 1973. PoÅomski performed on tours across Europe, the Soviet Union, the USA, and Cuba. Awards include the Medal for Merit to Culture â Gloria Artis and a Golden Fryderyk. PoÅomski retired in 2019 due to hearing problems and died in Warsaw on November 14, 2022.
