Biography

Jami Sieber, born April 17, 1957, is a cellist, vocalist, and composer. She began playing the cello at age seven and was part of the cello section of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony in Minneapolis. In 1977, Sieber moved to Seattle and met Charlie Murphy in 1979. They toured as a folk duo for five years before evolving into the progressive rock band Rumors of the Big Wave. After leaving the band, Sieber embarked on a solo career, releasing her first album Lush Mechanique in 1994. She has since produced several independent albums, including Second Sight (1998), Hidden Sky (2004), and Timeless (2013). Her compositions have been featured in the video game Braid, the films Big Joy (2012) and Queen of the Sun (2010), and various dance and theatre productions.
