Biography

Isabella Eliza Victoria Cross, professionally known as Issey Cross, is an English musician hailing from Kent. Born to two hairdressers, she received her first guitar on her thirteenth birthday, launching a passion for music. Under the pseudonym Issey C, she began performing in local pubs as a teenager, navigating the under-18 rule by skillfully altering her appearance. After completing her GCSEs, Issey Cross relocated to Tottenham to pursue music education. She initially focused on performance but shifted to music production during her second year. Her journey began with the release of her debut single, "Who," in January 2021, followed by "Boys Make Promises" the next month, both featuring on her debut EP Mirrors Don't Lie, released in March of the same year via Cult Behaviour. Her career took a momentous turn when she featured on several singles such as Wilkinson's "Used to This," Jalle's "Downers," and Nathan Dawe & Bru-C's "Oh Baby. "Oh My," her 2023 collaboration with Luude and Moby, peaked at Number 98 on the UK Singles Chart. It was followed later that year by "Bittersweet Goodbye," which was produced by Luude and sampled The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony."
