Biography

Canadian singer-songwriter Alyssa Reid was born on March 15, 1993, in Edmonton, Alberta. A precocious talent, she wrote her first song at the age of 7 and started taking vocal lessons two years later. Thanks to a viral parody of Justin Bieber's "One Less Lonely Girl" titled "One Less Lonely Boy," she was discovered by Wax Records co-founder Jamie Appleby, who quickly added her to the label's roster. Drawing inspiration from Heart's 1987 hit "Alone," her debut single "Alone Again" appeared in 2010 and entered the Canadian Hot 100 at Number 79, peaking at Number 11. Two years, later the song became a hit in the UK, hitting Number 2 on the Official Singles Chart. Preceded by the single of the same name, her first studio full-length The Game hit the shelves in 2011 and earned her a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2012 Juno Awards. Following a lengthy tour throughout Canada and the UK, Alyssa Reid returned in 2014 with her sophomore effort, Time Bomb. A third LP titled Phoenix came out in 2015. In subsequent years, she released the EPs 3AM Pt. 1 (2018) and 3AM Pt. 2 (2019) under the moniker ASHS, followed by an eponymous album in 2021. "Roses," her first single of 2022, entered the Top 40 of the Canada CHR chart at Number 35.
