Piri & Tommy are an English drumâandâbass duo formed in 2021, consisting of Sophieâ¯McBurnie and Tommyâ¯Villiers. The pair first met on Instagram in 2020, later beginning a romantic and musical partnership that blended their shared admiration for artists such as Disclosure and Kaytranada. Their initial breakthrough came with the single "Soft Spot" in Juneâ¯2021, which garnered over 18â¯million streams on Spotify. In 2022, they released the mixtape froge.mp3, featuring tracks "Beachin" and "On & On", the latter reaching numberâ¯99 on the UK Singles Chart on 28â¯Julyâ¯2022. The duo performed at the 2022 Reading Festival and were subsequently signed to Polydor Records. In Novemberâ¯2022 they issued a cover of Charliâ¯XCXâs "Unlock It", which gained popularity on TikTok. By Decemberâ¯2022, Piri & Tommy were nominated for BBC Radioâ¯1âs Sound ofâ¯2023. In Januaryâ¯2023, the duo announced their split, though they indicated a continued musical collaboration.
