Biography

In 2020, Isabelle Valot, a Franco-American singer, won the Prodiges television competition, which opened the door to her career as an artist. Born to a French father and an American mother, Isabelle Valot grew up in the United States, taking a few singing lessons in Denver (Colorado), without pursuing any musical studies. On her return to France, she worked on her soprano timbre at Michel d'Ottoviani's Atelier du Chant, who encouraged her to enter the Prodiges television competition in the lyric artist category. On December 8, 2020, after a series of selections, the sixteen-year-old singer won the show's competition with her interpretation of the standard "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from the musical The Wizard of Oz, followed by "Your Love", a composition by Ennio Morricone for the film Once Upon a Time in the West. Chosen by Julie Fuchs, the soprano benefits from the support of the Warner Classics label to record her first recital, Le Jeune Amour, featuring arias by Mozart, Puccini, Fauré, Adam, Poulenc, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Leonard Bernstein. Released on November 26, 2021, it reached No. 6 in the classical SNEP charts.
