International Pony was formed in 1998 in Hamburg, Germany, by DJ Koze, Cosmic DJ, and Erobique, who previously performed with Fischmob. The trio first attracted attention with the single "Leaving Home" in 2002, which later became the theme for the television program Into the Night with Rick Dees. Their debut studio album We Love Music was released in 2002 on Columbia Records, followed by Bass Is Boss in 2004 and Mit Dir Sind Wir Vier in 2006 under the same label. Throughout the 2000s, International Pony toured extensively across Europe, mixing funk and electro elements that earned them a dedicated following. The group disbanded in 2010, concluding a decade of activity that contributed to the German electronic and funk scenes. No posthumous releases or further accolades are documented after the split.
