International Music is a German rock band that was founded in Essen in 2015. The band consists of Peter Rubel (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Pedro Gonçalves Crescenti (vocals, bass) and Joel Roters (drums). The group's music is characterized by an eclectic mix of pop, punk, psychedelia and new wave, with lyrics that are often cryptic and surreal. Their debut album Die besten Jahre was released in 2018 and was highly praised by critics. It reached number 1 in the annual charts of the music magazine Musikexpress and was voted the best album of the year by ByteFM. the second album Ententraum followed in 2021, which also received positive reviews and reached number 13 in the German charts. in 2024, the band released their third album Endless Rüttenscheid, which reached number 19 in the German album charts. International Music's experimental style and unconventional lyrics have secured them a firm place in the German indie music scene. They were awarded the popNRW prize for best newcomer in 2018 and won the German Music Authors' Prize as promising young artists in 2020.
