Biography

Chuckamuck is a three-member garage rock band from Berlin, Germany, formed around 2006 and 2007 by classmates Oskar Haßler, known as "Oska Wald", and Julius, known as "Jiles". Lorenz Szukal, known as "Lorenz O’Tool", joined the group shortly after. Initially named "Qat", they changed their name to Chuckamuck in reference to the dice game Chuck a Luck and singer Chuck Berry. In 2009, Chuckamuck signed with the Berlin label Staatsakt and released their first singles that same year. Their debut album Wild for Adventure followed in 2011. The band's lineup changed in 2013 when Jan Junker, known as "Mohair Sam", replaced Jules on bass. Notable albums include Jiles (2013), Chuckamuck (2017) and beatles (2022). Their music evolved from a mix of German and English songs to exclusively German lyrics, drawing influences from Chuck Berry, Television Personalities, and Lo-Fi Punk.
