Biography

Icecream Hands, an Australian power pop band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 1992, consisted of Charles "Chuck Skatt" Jenkins as lead singer-songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Arturo "Arch" Larizza on bass guitar, his brother Dom "Benedictine III" Larizza on lead guitar, and Derek Smiley on drums. The band initially released a self-titled extended play in 1992 under the name Chuck Skatt and His Icecream Hands. They shortened the name to Icecream Hands, and Douglas Lee Robertson replaced Arch Larizza on bass guitar in 1993. Their first full-length album, Travelling... Made Easy, appeared in 1993, followed by Memory Lane Traffic Jam in 1997, which received critical acclaim from AllMusic reviewer Stephen Thomas Erlewine. In 1999, the album Sweeter Than the Radio was released and nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album in 2000. Marcus Goodwin replaced Dom Larizza on lead guitar before this period. The band went on hiatus in 2004 and briefly reunited to release The Good China in 2007.
