Biography
Casper & The Cookies is an American rock and pop band from Athens, Georgia. Multi-instrumentalist Jason NeSmith began his musical journey under the pseudonym Casper Fandango in 1996, releasing two DIY cassettes before forming Casper & The Cookies as a live band. Their album, Oh!, was released in 2004 on Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. Subsequent albums include The Optimist's Club (2006) and Modern Silence (2009). NeSmith, who also played with Of Montreal during their Satanic Panic in the Attic tour of 2004, has been a key member throughout various lineup changes. The band served as the backing group for Daniel Johnston at the 2007 Athens Pop Fest and toured nationwide supporting the Apples in Stereo that same year.
