Biography

Ian Folke Svenonius, born in 1968 in the United States, is an American musician known for his role as a singer. He began his musical career with Nation of Ulysses, formed in 1988 and releasing its first album, 13-Point Program to Destroy America, in 1991. The band was influential in the punk scene but dissolved in 1992. Svenonius then formed The Make-Up in 1995, combining garage rock, soul, and liberation theology to create a genre dubbed "Gospel Yeh-Yeh." He later led Weird War and Chain & the Gang. Currently, he is the frontman of Escape-ism, releasing Escape-Ism – The Lost Record in 2018.
