Biography

Golden Shoulders, a band from Nevada City, California, was formed in 2001 by songwriter Adam Kline. The group is known for its rotating lineup and notable contributors such as Joanna Newsom, who sang and played piano on their debut album Let My Burden Be, released October 22, 2002. This album peaked at number 66 on the CMJ chart. Golden Shoulders has since released several albums including Friendship Is Deep (August 23, 2004), Get Reasonable (May 5, 2009), and Could This Be the End (September 13, 2019). The band has toured extensively across the United States, including multiple acoustic tours performed without microphones or amplifiers, though they sometimes perform as a full-band plugged-in lineup in California.
