Biography
Hotel Bossa Nova, a German jazz band, was formed in 2005 in Wiesbaden by Liza da Costa on vocals, Tilmann Höhn on guitar, Alexander Sonntag on double bass, and Wolfgang Stamm on drums and percussion. Their music blends jazz, world music, fado, samba, and various European, African, and Latin American rhythms. Hotel Bossa Nova released their debut album Ao Vivo in 2006 under Homefamily Records, followed by Supresa in 2009 on the same label. The band signed with ENJA -yellowbird Records for subsequent releases, including Bossanomia (2011), Na Meia Luz (2013), Desordem & Progresso (2014), and Little Fish (2017). Their live album Live at Das Rind Rüsselsheim was released in 2019, followed by Cruzamento in 2021. The group has performed at notable festivals such as the Dresdener Jazzfestival, Leverkusener Jazztage, and Festival da Jazz (St. Moritz).
