Biography

Hong Jin-young, born on August 9, 1985, in the Republic of Korea, is a singer and actress. She began her career with small film and television roles, including appearances in Who Slept With Her? and the historical drama Yeon Gaesomun. In 2007, Hong debuted as part of the short-lived girl group SWAN, releasing their debut song "Call Me When You Hear This Song". In 2009, she transitioned to a solo career as a trot singer, initially resisting the genre due to its association with older music. Her first digital single was "Love Battery" released in 2009. Hong gained significant attention for her vocal ability and signature aegyo, appearing on various variety programs and events throughout South Korea. In 2014, she released her first EP LIFE NOTE, featuring the title song "Cheer Up". Her second EP, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, was released in 2016 with the title track "Thumb Up" and "Love Wifi". Hong's solo career also includes notable collaborations such as "Ring Ring" with comedian Kim Young-chul, which won Best Trot at the 2017 MelOn Music Awards. In 2019, she released her first studio album Lots of Love, marking a significant milestone in her career.
