Biography
The South Korean vocalist Kim Se-jeong first came into the public eye when she appeared on the popular TV series 'Produce 101', a talent show with a devil-take-the-hindmost format whereby the final winners are entirely chosen by the viewers. After winning a number of the preliminary rounds, Se-jeong was eventually voted runner-up in the 2016 series finale of the show and as a result became a member of the all-girl band I.O.I., a group created by the show's organisers and comprised of the eleven finalists.
The following year Se-Jeong's management company decided to transfer her talents to one of their other creations, another all-girl band called Gugudan and with whom Se-jeong enjoyed some chart success before launching a parallel career as an actress. She now manages to combine both careers by often appearing in film and TV productions in singing roles.
