Biography

Hikota Aoi, born on December 26, 1988, in Kagawa Prefecture, is a Japanese enka singer known for his cheerful stage presence and love of traditional music. Inspired by Enka legend Kiyoshi Hikawa during his first year of junior high, Aoi was drawn deeply into the genre and began pursuing a music career. After graduating high school, he moved to Tokyo to study under renowned music professionals Norio Ito and Madoka Ono. In 2010, he won the newcomer audition commemorating the 500th episode of the TV show Kayou Salon – Enka ga Ee Jan, which led to his debut. On March 2, 2011, Aoi released his debut single "Karaoke Nagashi" with the B-side "Hanamaru Kaidou Tabigarasu", officially launching his career in the Enka scene. In 2025, he released "Yaesu no Sakaba", a new track continuing his steady path in Enka while charming audiences with his warm vocals and personality.
