Muraki Dan, born on January 11, 1980, is a Japanese enka singer. He was the last apprentice of renowned composer Funehira Tetsu and grew up familiar with Enka music due to his family's karaoke business. After graduating from National Institute of Technology, Akita College, where he served as the baseball team captain, Muraki moved to Tokyo and worked as a carpenter and site supervisor. However, his passion for singing led him to send a demo tape to Funehira, eventually becoming his apprentice in 2003. Muraki's debut single, "Gozaru", produced by Funaki Kazuo and composed by Funehira Tetsu, was released on February 17, 2016. His stage name was given to him by his mentors, with "Mura" from Funehira and "Ki" from Funaki. His 2019 release "Kaasan No Umiuta" further showcased his emotive vocals and storytelling abilities.
