Biography
Hellripper, a one-man black/speed metal band formed by Scottish musician James McBain in 2014, released their debut EP The Manifestation of Evil shortly after formation. In 2015, they released split albums with Batsheva and Acid Cross/Kriegg. Hellripper's first full-length album, Coagulating Darkness, was released in 2017 through Barbarian Wrath and received critical acclaim. In October 2020, the band released their second full-length album, The Affair of the Poisons, which drew inspiration from a historical murder scandal involving witchcraft. Hellripper began performing live shows in 2016, undertaking several European tours and appearing at festivals such as Metaldays and Roadburn Festival. Their third full-length album, Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags, was released in February 2023 and debuted at number 11 on the UK Official Rock & Metal Album Charts. It was followed by Coronach, released in March 2026.
