Born on March 26 1994 in Amarillo, Texas, Hayden Pendigo is an American folk guitarist known for his fingerstyle playing. With a rich blend of traditional folk influences and modern sensibilities, his music creates a captivating soundscape that resonates with listeners on a deeply emotional level. After picking up the guitar aged 12, he looked to American primitive guitarists like John Fahey and Robbie Basho for inspiration. He released his first album, Seven Years Late, in 2013, and the following year recorded a collaborative LP, Five Steps, featuring many genre greats such as Fred Frith, Chuck Johnson and Steffen Basho-Junghans. He has since amassed an impressive cache of albums, each demonstrating his singular guitar playing, including Greetings from Amarillo (2017), Valley of the Sun (2019), Letting Go (2021), The Happiest Times I Ever Ignored (2023) and I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away (2025). Later in 2025, he collaborated with metal band Chat Pile for In the Earth Again.
