Daniel E. Bachman, born in 1989 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is an American guitarist, drone musician, and independent scholar. His early work emerged under the moniker Sacred Harp. His first solo release, GreyâBlackâGreen (2011), led to subsequent albums such as Oh Be Joyful (2012), Seven Pines (2012), and River (2015). Bachman collaborated with Ryley Walker on Of Deathly Premonitions (2011) and with Ian McColm on Taman Shud (2012). He signed with Tompkins Square and Three Lobed Recordings, issuing The Morning Star (2018). Rolling Stone highlighted him in 2015 as one of â10 Artists You Need to Know,â and NPR praised his contributions to the solo guitar music scene.
