Harry Muskee was a Dutch blues singer and musician who was born in 1941 in Assen. He began playing the guitar at age 15 and formed the band The Mixtures during high school. In 1961, he co-founded the blues ensemble Cuby + Blizzards alongside Eelco Gelling. Following the group's disbandment in 1972, he performed with formations including Red White 'n' Blue, the Harry Muskee Band, and the Muskee Gang. His recordings include the albums Ballads (1973), Love Vendetta (1977), and Cut De Luxe (1991). Muskee also presented programs on Radio Drenthe and conducted a study tour through the southern United States to research the origins of blues music. A statue in his honor was established in Grolloo in 1997. Muskee died in 2011.
