Biography
Harris Newman is a Canadian musician and mastering engineer based in Montreal, Quebec. He began his career as a sound engineer at Grey Market Mastering, which shares a building with Hotel2Tango studio and Constellation Records. Since 1998, Newman has mastered hundreds of albums for artists such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Wolf Parade, and Vic Chesnutt. As a musician, he is known for his work with Montreal-based groups Sackville, Hrsta, Triple Burner, Esmerine, and Angela Desveaux. His solo acoustic guitar project released several recordings on Strange Attractors Audio House. Notable releases include Non-Sequiturs (2003), Accidents with Nature and Each Other (2005), Dark Was the Night (2006), and a split 12-inch with Mauro Antonio Pawlowski in 2007.
