Biography

Hans-A-Plast was a German punk band from Hannover formed in 1978 by Jens Meyer, Micha Polten, Renate Baumgart, and Bettina Schröder. Annette Benjamin joined as the lead vocalist after meeting Schröder at the first No Fun Festival. Their debut album, Hans-A-Plast I (1979), includes the songs “Rock ’n’ Roll Freitag” (1979) and “Amerikaner” (1979) and sold over 20,000 copies. Subsequent releases include Hans-A-Plast II (1980) and Ausradiert (1983), which features the songs “Schwarz & Weiß” (1983) and “Loreley” (1983). The group disbanded after Benjamin's departure. Discography releases include the compilation Hans-A-Plast (1988) and the live recording Live At Rockpalast 1980 (2021).
