Biography
Hanka Ordonówna, born Maria Anna PietruszyÅska on September 25, 1902, in Warsaw, Poland, was a Polish singer, dancer, and actress. She began her artistic career at age 16 performing at the Sfinks cabaret in Warsaw and later at the WesoÅy Ul Theater in Lublin under the name Anna Ordon. Her breakthrough came when she was discovered by Fryderyk Jarosy, director of the Qui Pro Quo cabaret, leading to her rise as a star. In 1933, she recorded the song "MiÅoÅÄ ci wszystko wybaczy" for the film Szpieg w masce. Other notable songs from her discography include "JakieÅ maÅe nic" (1934), "Fiakier", "Na pierwszy znak", and "BÅÄkitny Express". Ordonówna married Count MichaÅ Zygmunt Tyszkiewicz in 1931, who wrote many of her songs. Despite contracting tuberculosis, she performed until her death on September 8, 1950, in Beirut, Lebanon.
