Haale Gafori, also known as Haale, born in the Bronx to Persian parents, is an American singer and composer. She released her debut EPs Paratrooper and Morning in 2007, via Darya Records. Her first full-length album, No Ceiling, was produced by percussionist Matt Kilmer and released in 2008. The album featured Haale's poetry as well as works from poets such as Rumi and Forugh Farokhzad, sung in both English and Persian. No Ceiling received critical acclaim, with the Boston Globe naming it one of 2008's "most memorable releases." Following the albumâs release, Haale toured extensively across the United States, Canada, and Europe from 2007 to 2008, performing at notable festivals including Bonnaroo and SXSW.
