Biography

Born on 19 July 1994 in Barrow-in-Furness, England and raised in Skerries, County Dublin, Grian Chatten rose to fame as the vocalist of Irish post-punk heroes Fontaines D.C. along with band members Carlos O'Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass), and Tom Coll (drums). The group achieved critical acclaim for their debut 2019 album Dogrel, which was nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize, with the band's second Grammy-nominated studio album A Hero's Death following in 2020. Third album Skinty Fia emerged in 2022. In 2023, Grian Chatten swapped the strutting post-punk of Fontaines D.C. for a quietly introspective debut solo album of folktronica-tinged indie called Chaos From the Fly for Partisan Records, which was propelled by the singles "Fairies" and "The Score."
