Greg Bates, born on September 25, 1987 in the United States of America, is a country music singer. He graduated from Ravenwood High School in 2006 and later earned a degree in Music Business from Belmont University in 2010. In the fall of 2011, Bates signed his first recording contract with Republic Nashville. His debut single "Did It for the Girl" was released in April 2012, debuting at number 57 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The song received positive reviews, with Billy Dukes praising its "clean simplicity" and giving it four stars out of five. This marked his breakthrough moment, leading to his Grand Ole Opry debut later that same month. His first extended play, Greg Bates, was released in July 2012 under Republic Nashville. The EP included notable songs such as "Did It for the Girl" and "Fill in the Blank", which was released to country radio on February 11, 2013. Bates received airplay as a "Highway Find" on satellite radio channel The Highway (Sirius XM). In January 2015, he released his single "Sand". He quietly parted ways with Republic Nashville towards the end of 2013.
