Biography

The Mellons (formed in 2020, in Salt Lake City) is an American Baroque pop and psychedelic rock group. The ensemble was established by Andrew Beck, Rob Jepson, Denney Fuller, and Ian Francis. Beck and Jepson met during high school and later formed the quartet during the COVID-19 pandemic. The band gained recognition for a sound influenced by The Beach Boys album Pet Sounds and artists including Cat Stevens, The Beatles, and The Turtles. In October 2021, the group released the debut single "So Much to Say". Following the singles "What a Time to Be Alive" (2022) and "Hello Sun" (2022), the ensemble released the studio album Introducing... The Mellons! through Earth Libraries on 21 October 2022. Beck, a former member of Imagine Dragons, directed the music videos for the group’s early recordings. The quartet established a reputation for integrating 1960s psychedelic influences into their compositions.
