Biography

Gerard van Maasakkers, born on March 26, 1949, in Nuenen, Netherlands, is a Dutch folk singer. During his studies in horticulture and landscape architecture, van Maasakkers was deeply involved in music, serving as a choir leader and composing a rock musical titled Plint. His breakthrough came in 1978 with the release of his debut album Komt er mer in, which sold 15,000 copies. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, van Maasakkers released several albums, including "Vur de wind" (1980) and "Onderwege" (1982). In 2008, he celebrated his 30th anniversary as a singer with four sold-out concerts at the Muziekcentrum Frits Philips in Eindhoven. His most famous song, "Hee gaode mee", remains popular and is featured annually in the Brabant Top 100.
