Biography

Geographer, an American indie rock band, emerged from the vibrant cultural backdrop of San Francisco, California, in 2007. Founded by Mike Deni, who serves as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and synthesizer operator, the band has carved out a distinctive niche within the indie rock and synth-pop genres. Geographer's sound is characterized by a blend of electronic music with lyrical earnestness and instrumental complexity, establishing them as a unique presence in the indie music scene. Alongside Mike Deni, the band has featured various members throughout its history, contributing to its dynamic sound and live performances. They gained critical acclaim with the release of their debut album, Innocent Ghosts, in 2008, followed by significant milestones such as Myth in 2012, and the emotionally charged Ghost Modern in 2015. Among their most celebrated tracks are "Kites" and "Verona", both featured in an EP called Animal Shapes, released in 2010.
