Geneviève Joyce Waïte, born Genevieve Joyce Weight on February 13, 1948, in Cape Town, South Africa, was a singer and actress. She began her career with a small role in the 1967 film The Professor and the Beauty Queen. In 1974, Waite released her debut album Romance Is On The Rise, which included the single "Love Is Coming Back". This song was later featured in the 1976 science-fiction film The Man Who Fell to Earth starring David Bowie. In 1975, Waite starred in a short-lived Broadway musical, Man on the Moon, which she co-wrote with John Phillips. She passed away on May 18, 2019, in Los Angeles, California.
