Benn Gilbert Kamoto, known as Gemini Major, was born on June 14, 1990, in Malawi and is a record producer and singer-songwriter based in South Africa. After graduating with an IT degree in 2009, he moved to Durban to pursue his music career. In 2013, after relocating to Johannesburg, Gemini Major joined Family Tree Records following a meeting with Cassper Nyovest. He gained prominence as the producer of Nasty C's hit single "Juice Back" and was nominated for Producer of the Year at the South African Hip Hop Awards in 2015. That same year, he released his debut album Gem n Eye. His EP Slum Kid was released on November 20, 2020, featuring collaborations with artists such as Nasty C, Riky Rick, Tellaman, AKA, The Big Hash, and Emtee.
