Fur Patrol is a rock band from New Zealand formed in Wellington in 1996. The group consists of Julia Deans, Andrew Bain, Simon Braxton, and Steve Wells. Their first extended play, Starlifter, was released in 1998. The band's debut studio album, Pet (September 2000), reached number 7 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart and included the Number 1 single "Lydia" (October 2000). In March 2001, Fur Patrol relocated to Melbourne, Australia. They released their second studio album, Collider (September 2003), which reached number 31 in New Zealand. After Steve Wells left the band in 2004, they continued as a three-piece and released their third studio album, Local Kid (29 September 2008). The group disbanded in 2008 but reunited for periodic shows, including a New Zealand tour in 2016.
