Floater, an American rock band from Eugene, Oregon, was formed in 1993 by Robert Wynia, Peter Cornett, and David Amador. The group initially gained traction with their debut album Sink, released in 1994, which included tracks from earlier demo tapes. Their second full-length album, Glyph (1995), expanded their popularity across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, leading to tours in Arizona, Utah, Texas, and New York. Floater received Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Performance in 1995 and Best Alternative Performance in 1996. In 1998, they released Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the Bone, marking a shift in their sound and a move to Portland, Oregon. Notable albums include Burning Sosobra (2000), Live at the Aladdin (2001), Alter (2002), and Acoustics (2004). Floater was voted Best Band in the Willamette Week's Best of Portland readers' poll for 2009 and 2010.
