Flix Pussy Cola is an alternative rock band from Quito, Ecuador, that began as a high-school project among friends in the mid-2010s and took on a more formal shape around 2017, when vocalist Lucas Ortiz, guitarists JoaquÃn Andino and Gabriel Patiño, bassist Doménica Escudero and drummer Sebastián JarrÃn started playing regularly on the local indie circuit. Their first official releases arrived in 2017 with singles like âJocoboâ and âLas Crónicas del Mueble,â followed in 2018 by the six-track EP Rock N Lola, which gathered early live favorites such as âAmanecà Psicoseado,â âLa Yoyaâ and âLa Canción del Wahâ and helped Flix Pussy Cola expand from small Quito venues to shows in other Ecuadorian cities. By 2019 they were being profiled in national media and appearing in theaters like Teatro México, and during the pandemic period they maintained momentum through online performances, including a streamed edition of Quitofest, which boosted their audience beyond their hometown scene. New singles like âIvyâ (2021) paved the way for their first full-length album Chao Chicos (CHCH) in 2023, whose tracks âChao chicos,â âOtra Vez,â âParoâ and âSopaâ marked a move toward more polished studio work and were supported by a national tour across Ecuador. In the mid-2020s Flix Pussy Cola continued releasing standalone tracks and collaborations, including â40 Gradosâ with Brazilian artist Menino Gutto and the 2025 single âNi tan mal,â while also stepping onto larger festival stages such as Quitoâs Verano de las Artes. In April 2025 they issued âComo Miranda,â a joint single with fellow Quito band Estamos Perdidos, underscoring the groupâs tight links to the cityâs independent rock community.
