Biography
Felice Schwartz, also known as Felicia Sanders, born on April 26, 1921, in Mount Vernon, New York, was an American singer and musician of traditional pop. She began her singing career during World War II, performing at camps and hospitals. In 1953, Sanders recorded "The Song from Moulin Rouge" with the label credits shown as Percy Faith and his Orchestra, which reached Number 1 on both the Billboard and Cash Box record charts and was credited as the Number 1 song for 1953 by Billboard. This breakthrough led to her first album, At the Blue Angel, released in 1955. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, she released several albums, including Girl Meets Boy (1955), That Certain Feeling (1958), and The Songs of Kurt Weill (1960). Notable singles include "Embrasse (Hold Me Close)" and "My Love's A Gentle Man". She died in her home in Manhattan on February 7, 1975, from cancer at the age of 53.
