Biography

Minako Ohashi, known professionally as Fayray, was born on April 18, 1976, in Japan. She is a singer-songwriter who grew up listening to American music from the 1970s and 1980s with her parents, which significantly influenced her musical style. At age four, she began playing classical piano. Fayray made her debut in July 1998 with the single "Taiyō no Gravity" and signed a recording contract with Antinos Records. Her first album, Craving, was released in 1999. In 2003, she released her third studio album, Shiroi Hana. Fayray took full creative control over her music, writing and composing her own songs starting from the b-sides of her fifth single "Same Night, Same Face" and self-producing subsequent records. She traveled to New York City in 2006 to collaborate with avant-garde producer Dougie Bowne, resulting in two albums. In 2007, she resumed performances under her real name, Minako Ohashi, as part of the trio The Present with Rusty Santos. Their debut album as a duo, FSG, was released on May 12, 2015.
