Japanese rock group BON-BON BLANCO, formed in 2002, consisting of Anna Santos on main vocals, Izumi Nakadai on conga, Mako Sakurai on maracas and former leader, Ruri Mizutani on bongo, and Tomoyo Matsumoto on timbales and current leader. The group debuted at the Bandai display corner at the Tokyo Toy Show in May 2002 with their first single "Ai want you!!" released on July 17, 2002. Their unique style of four percussionists and one vocalist garnered significant media attention even before their debut. In June 2002, they launched their official website "B3 TV." The group's early performances included weekly concerts at Harajuku Ruido from July to August 2002, which helped build a dedicated fanbase. Their first album, BEAT GOES ON, was released on March 26, 2003. In 2004, BON-BON BLANCO achieved significant chart success with their single "Bon Voyage!" used as the theme for the popular anime series One Piece. This song reached number 8 in Japan's hit charts and marked a turning point in their career. The group released several notable albums including B3 Master Pieces 2002–2004, 手のひらを太陽に (EP), La La 口笛吹いて行こう (EP), and Winter Greetings. In 2006, the group moved to Bouncy Records and released "Yura Yura Yureru" on August 30. The group's activities continued until May 14, 2008, when Izumi Nakadai left the group, and the remaining members announced they would continue as a quartet. BON-BON BLANCO suspended activities in 2009.
