Fabian Arends, born on March 16, 1990, in Friesoythe, Germany, is a musician, jazz drummer, and composer. He started his musical career during high school, playing with local big bands. From 2007 to 2011, he was part of the Landesjazzorchester Niedersachsen, followed by membership in the Bundesjazzorchester under Jiggs Whigham and Niels Klein from 2012 to 2013. Arends studied at the Musikhochschule Köln. Arends has collaborated with numerous artists, including Simon Seidl, Christoph Möckel, Thomas Rückert, Jason Seizer, and Lee Konitz. His debut album, Levitate, was released in 2017, followed by Fosterchild in 2019, the EP Sonic Recreation in 2020, and Fractures in 2022. He has performed at major festivals such as JazzBaltica, Elbjazz, and the Moers Festival. Since 2016, Arends has held a teaching position in jazz drums at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart.
